Andorra Photography - M1key - Michal Huniewicz
Welcome to Andorra
Directly above our hotel room, they had an industrial washing machine on rails, or that's what it sounded like. Next to us were the lifts.
ISO 450, 24mm, f/2.8, 1/50s.
Misty Mountains
The main appeal of Andorra, as I understand, is that it is lodged between the mountains separating France and Spain.
ISO 125, 24mm, f/10.0, 1/50s.
Our Car
You can't fly to the country, so we rented a car in France and drove the winding roads to Andorra, one of us haplessly puking in the back.

Hitch Hiker
We picked up this hitch hiker on the way.

Mobile
Suddenly, there was snow all around us.

We drove on to Spain.
ISO 100, 70mm, f/18.0, 1/50s.
Beating Heart
The main attraction was the museum of Salvador Dalí. Here, a beating heart made of jewels.
ISO 160, 24mm, f/2.8, 1/125s.

Salvador Dalí wasn't just a painter.
ISO 500, 24mm, f/2.8, 1/125s.

Salin d’Aigues-Mortes
After the museum, we drove back to France to see this place where they obtain salt.
ISO 100, 24mm, f/2.8, 1/1600s.
Boat
Nothing here was in English. Perhaps I should learn French...

Carcassone
The iconic castle of Carcassone was next.
ISO 100, 55mm, f/5.6, 1/500s.
The Castle
Inhabited since the Neolithic period, Carcassonne is located in the plain of the river Aude between historic trade routes, linking the Atlantic to the Mediterranean Sea and the Massif Central to the Pyrénées. [

Tower
Carcassonne was the first fortress to use hoardings in times of siege.
ISO 100, 44mm, f/9.0, 1/160s.
Ramparts
Carcassonne was demilitarised under Napoleon and the Restoration, and the fortified cité of Carcassonne fell into such disrepair that the French government decided that it should be demolished.
ISO 100, 56mm, f/2.8, 1/2000s.
Carcassonne Cathedral
The castle was restored, but that effort attracted a lot of criticism. The slate roofs were claimed to be more typical of northern France, as was the addition of the pointed tips to the roofs.

ISO 100, 50mm, f/2.8, 1/500s.
Tell the Women that We're Leaving
We kind of found the spot, but my lens was too short, there was no snow in the mountains, and the air was hazy. Oh well.
ISO 180, 70mm, f/7.1, 1/50s.
Look Up
Just my luck. Eye-rolling.
