Iceland 2009 Photography - M1key - Michal Huniewicz
I went to Iceland in April 2009 because my manager asked me to take a break.
I didn't know what to expect.
It turned out that Iceland is one of the most beautiful places I have ever visited. Yes, it was cloudy and a
bit gloomy, but the landscape was simply astonishing. People are very friendly - I can't wait to come back.
Gudrun was a great guide there and her car was very useful.
Gullfoss
Gullfoss
Gullfoss is a waterfall located in southwest Iceland in the canyon visible in the picture.
Gullfoss
Gullfoss
The waterfall was supposed to be used as an energy source. This would however alter it;
now the waterfall is protected.
A cave
A cave
Iceland is covered with lava which forms various structures, including caves. Only 21% of
the land can handle vegetation.
Seljalandsfoss
Seljalandsfoss
Iceland has a rather large number of waterfalls. In this picture you can see Seljalandsfoss
and a tiny rainbow.
Vik, the village
Vik, the village
Vik is the southernmost village in Iceland and has 300 inhabitants which makes it the largest
settlement for 70 kilometers. Nearby is a black beach.

Skogafoss

treasure buried in a cave behind it.

Hekla
Hekla
Hekla is a volcano and used to be called the gateway to hell or the prison for Judas.
Some believed that birds flying above Hekla were taken to be souls.
Mud fields

Below this hopefully thick layer of cold mud there is a hot swamp of boiling mud.

of focus, that's humidity.
